Update

Well...."things" have been "interesting" lately. My computer picked up a nasty "bug" so I've been offline for almost a week getting it resolved to peace. At first I thought it hated me but I soon demonstrated my position of authority over it by spitting in the back of the thing and whomping it a good one. I forgot exactly what they call that procedure but it falls somewhere in the "technical tap" catagory. Anyway....the bloody thing understood my intention to dominate it so it's up and running nominally (though there may be a minor issue with the ability of the desktop to maintain the background picture. We'll see).

After laboring over the fact that I could have lost 3.3K songs, 40K personal pictures, and thousands of hours of personal work (writing), it came to me that I needed a more serious approach to backing up my "stuff". Sooooo....I now have a 500 gig external hard drive sitting along side of my box that does the job quite nicely. No more sweat.

The "R guy" is still sitting up and taking nourishment and working on computers. And he's still "pickin' and grinnin' " down at the Senior Citizen's meeting hall downtown Porterville, CA US of A. The group leader of "Duggin's Citrus Express", Susan Newsome, booked the band to play at the "Mainstreet Music" in the new park across from City Hall this last Friday night. They cancelled the Senior's get together. But, since the park is only two blocks from the Senior's Hall, most of the "regulars" came to the park. Despite the immentent chance of rain, folks danced an had a fairly good time. It wasn't all that chilly but it was a good idea to have at least long sleeves on at the time.

Speaking of music, "Messenger" (the church gospel group featuring my cousin, Rod Sanders, as lead singer) will be playing at the "Harvest Fest" at the "Gospel Lighthouse" this Halloween. We'll be a "mish-mash" group this year to the varied and sundry work schedules and body availability. Leland Cox, the main lead guitarist has reformed his old R&R band so can't make it very often. We have some ideas for another rhythm/lead player, though. The group (featuring moi as lead and rhythm guitar picker and vocalist) has played there before a few years ago. They have a super turnout each year. It also helps to give the kids an alternative for the evening rather than helping the witches celebrate.

It appears that I may be able to take a short mini-vacation to Texas at the end of the first week in November. Connie (more on her in the next update) has been asked to come vist by her brother, Roger, who lives just east of San Antonio, TX. That's not all that far (perhaps an axle greasin') from Abilene where my son and my 8 year old grandson live. We should be gone no longer than ten or perhaps twelve days I think.

Speaking of my son; Jeff's wife is reconsidering the divorce. Thank you for your prayers in the matter and for remember him and her as they resolve matters to peace. Amen.

More later. Remember that you are all on my prayer list that the Lord bless you and keep you. The blessing of the Lord be upon you as you serve Him in peace.

Take care, all.
